Life is filled with circumstances and situations beyond human manipulation or control. For all the creativity, ingenuity, and strength of man he is still a finite creature and desperately needs help, strength, and wisdom beyond himself. King Asa found himself in this position a number of times and when he sought the Lord, He was found and did what only God could do in delivering the King and nation from humanly impossible situations. However, there was a time King Asa failed to seek God’s help and he depended on the arm of flesh and others to save him and God was sorely displeased. Asa settled for temporary relief rather than the long-term solution God would have provided and in time his troubles would revisit him. God reminded the King of his desire to help those who have a heart to seek him. Heaven’s eyes are always searching to find the person who is willing to trust in God so that He can display His strength, His might, His wisdom, and power on their behalf. Our theme for the coming year is “Only God”. There is some thing that only God can do and we honor Him when we seek Him and ask for His help. As we come up against obstacles, trials, and difficulties that seem too big, lets remember our heavenly Father and ask Him with a heart of faith to do what only He can do.
